FAQ
Questions, answered
What is Scrim?
Scrim teaches financial modeling two ways at once: free written courses that explain the concepts, and a simulator that drops you into a real spreadsheet and grades every cell as you build the model yourself.
Is the course really free?
Yes. Every learning course, lesson, glossary, and formula sheet is free with no account required to read. The first simulator case is free too.
What does the paid version cost?
A single payment of $49 unlocks every case in the simulator forever. There is no subscription and no renewal - you pay once and keep access, including all cases added later.
How is my work graded?
An in-browser calculation engine recomputes your spreadsheet as you type and checks the key output cells against the correct answer in real time, so you get instant, cell-by-cell feedback.
Do I need Excel or any software?
No. The spreadsheet runs in your browser and supports the same formulas and keyboard shortcuts you would use in Excel, so the skills transfer directly.
Who is Scrim for?
Students breaking into investment banking, private equity, or consulting; analysts who want to sharpen up; and anyone who learns better by doing than by watching videos.
What topics are covered?
The flagship course is a complete DCF valuation curriculum. The simulator spans DCF, LBO, credit, M&A, accounting, markets, and more, with new tracks added over time.
Can I get a refund?
Because the course and the first case are free, you can confirm Scrim is right for you before paying. If something is wrong with your purchase, reach out and we will make it right.
